Spring is here, which means warmer, longer days! There's so much to do around the Wollert area this time of year, so we've put together a list of activities that are close to Arramont, plus a few that are worth the extra drive.

Lehmann's Farm Park

Set on the site of an old dairy farm, this playground has kept its roots. You'll spot quirky sculptures like cheese wheels, giant veggies, milk barrels, and even a farmer with his dog, along with info on the farm's history dating back to the 1920s. It's a great place to unwind with the family with a playground, picnic tables, barbecues, and walking and bike paths. Well worth a visit this spring, and just 7 minutes from Arramont!

Five Vineyard

Fancy a winery day without going too far from home? Five Vineyard has you covered, serving up lunch, dinner, and wine tastings, plus steak and pizza nights and long lunches. There's something for every occasion, and it's only 10 minutes from Arramont.

Growling Frog Golf Course

Book a round and a bite to eat at Growling Frog, surrounded by river red gums, kangaroos, and great views of the southern edge of the Great Dividing Range. It's ranked 74th for best public access golf course in Australia, so it's well worth a hit and so is sticking around for a meal at the restaurant to take in the views. Just 16 minutes from Arramont!

Yan Yean Reservoir Park

Victoria's oldest water supply, Yan Yean Reservoir was the largest of its kind in the world when it was completed back in 1857. Today it's just as popular for a family outing, with walking trails, shaded picnic areas, and electric barbecues. Give the kids some playtime at the playground near the historic Valve House, or stroll the easy trails along the water for lovely views over the reservoir and out to the mountains. This beautiful natural setting is only 18 minutes from Arramont!

Bundoora Park Farm

A little further out, about 30 minutes from Arramont, you'll find Bundoora Park Farm. It's an urban farm with hands-on activities for the whole family, plus wildlife rides and an onsite cafe. Visit for a great day out where the kids can get up close with the farm animals.

Wollert is also within reach of the Yarra Valley, so if you're happy to drive a bit further, there's plenty more to see. In under an hour you can reach The Chocolaterie Chocolate Factory or Healesville Sanctuary, stopping in quaint country towns along the way which makes for a great family day out.

Hume Anglican Grammar is Coming to Wollert

Hume Anglican Grammar, one of Melbourne's well-regarded independent schools, has announced plans to open a fourth campus in Wollert, putting highly regarded Prep to Year 12 education just around the corner from Arramont. Joining the school's existing Donnybrook, Freier and Kalkallo campuses, the Wollert campus will be the largest of the four, with capacity for around 2,500 students. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2032, with the campus planned to open in 2033. The site is nestled within the area bound by Boundary Road to the north, Epping Road to the east, Edgars Road to the west, and Craigieburn Road East to the south, placing it within a 7 minute drive from Arramont. The location has also been chosen with connectivity in mind. It sits next to a planned public recreation reserve, similar to the setup at the Donnybrook and Kalkallo campuses, and the proposed Wollert train station will be close by. The future Wollert Major Town Centre will be adjacent to the campus, meaning school drop-off can easily be combined with the weekly grocery shop, a coffee catch-up with friends, or a trip to the local library once the precinct is up and running. The school will open with the junior year levels, with the intention of growing into a full Prep to Year 12 offering over time. Secondary year levels may be introduced earlier if demand supports it, so the exact rollout of year groups will become clearer as planning progresses.
